Wiki

The wiki is a collection of examples and fixes for common accessibility problems.

The headings are arranged in a similar way to the Accessibility Insights for Web (opens in a new tab) extension, which QA Teams can use for the testing of Accessibility requirements for a consistent approach across the team.

This should mean that if a bug is raised by the QA team, and it references which section of the Accessibility Insights extension it comes from, it should be easy to find the relevant section in the wiki.

How to use the wiki

The wiki pages are designed mostly with "fixing a problem" in mind, so the primary use case for the wiki is to find a problem that is being encountered, and then find a fix for it.

As above, this may often come from a bug raised by the QA team, but could also be self-driven if a developer is looking to improve the accessibility of a site. with specific concerns in mind.

The secondary use case is to learn about accessibility problems and how to fix them, with the wiki acting as a resource for learning. Each section has examples of common problems and how to consider fixing them, which could slowly be learned and incorporated into the development process up front, rather than as a bug fix.

It is not expected to be read from start to finish, but rather to be used as a reference guide when a problem is encountered. However, browsing the sections without a specific problem in mind could also be a good way to learn about common problems and fixes.
